Ayurvedic Detox Massage

release toxins and regain clarity

WHAT IS THE AYURVEDIC DETOX MASSAGE?

Renown as one of the main pillars of the Panchakarma cure, the Ayurvedic detox massage removes toxins from the body through a soft massage technique which stimulates the energetic points and bands (marmas) of the body. Known to have effects on physical and subtle bodies as well, the Ayurvedic massage stimulates the natural detox capacities of the body and eliminates, when done as a multiple-day cure, inflammation and pain. Ideally done as a cure and in combination with dosha rebalancing nutrition and medication, the Ayurvedic massage resets the body, facilitating a better functioning of elimination processes, releasing stress and increasing vitality and overall energy levels.

Taught in this technique at the Anjaneyam clinic in Kerala, I bring the original knowledge and practice of the Ayurvedic detox massage as traditionally done in this region of India, well-known as the cradle of Panchakarma cures.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION?

In a session, I provide a full body massage with anti-inflammatory oil, using the technique of the original Panchakarma cure.

In a session, we will:

  • release tension from the body and stimulate its natural detox capacities, through the massage which stimulates lymph as well as energy points and bands (marmas)

  • by applying anti-inflammatory oil, help reduce inflammation in the body

  • insist on certain more problematic areas which are more tense or painful to release those tensions and pain

  • create an overall state of wellbeing and re-harmonise the flow of energy in the body

HOW MANY TIMES SHOULD I DO THE MASSAGE?

Since the massage stimulates inflammation and toxin release, it is recommended as a practice from time to time (1/week). Doing this practice as a cure - a sequence of 5 or 6 days in which the person receives the massage on a daily basis - the release of toxins will be more significant and needs to be followed by a Turkish bath and purgation to complete the sequence. Doing the massage as a cure will support the body's detox at a deeper level and will boost immunity and daily energy.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

Since it is a full body massage with anti-inflammatory oil, you may wish to take a shower after the massage, so if you wish and for your convenience, have a towel and soap for the shower. Massage table and material for the Ayurvedic massage provided.

HOW CAN IT BE DONE?

In person only, in Brussels. The address will be be provided once the booking of the session has been confirmed.

PRICE and FOLLOW-UP:

45 min session (and follow-up): 70 euros

Although the Ayurvedic massage itself is very gentle and relaxing, the process may bring up pain in the body as it stimulates the release of toxins. The follow-up is included in the session price: replies to questions and advice on how to integrate the effects of the massage, if needed and requested by the recipient. To reduce the incidence of occasional pain, an Ayurvedic massage cure is recommended, as in the cure (which involves repeated massages at short intervals) the toxin release is stimulated and is followed by purging practices.
